Matsuyama is the capital city if the Ehime Prefecture on the Shikoku island of Japan. The name means "pine mountain". Matsuyama is known for the hot springs, and it is home to Dogo Onsen, the oldest hot spring bath house in Japan. Also, eight of the eighty-seven temples in the Shikoku Pilgrimage are in Mitsuyama. Two japanese military leaders during the Russo-Japanese War were the Akiyama Brothers, who were born in the city, and are conmemorated in the city.
