Bornholm, with a population of 44,000 people, is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea. It also refers to Bornholm Regional Municipality, the municipality (Danish, kommune) which covers the entire island, and has county privileges. The main industries on the island include fishing, pottery, clock-making, dairy farming, and tourism.
Hammershus is a great landmark to start off your
tour. This Europe's largest castle ruins. It is located north of the island on a
cliff overlooking the Baltic Sea. This is a great place to take some pictures
and admire the scenery.
Rent a bike and head out to the bike paths that are located throughout the
coast. While you are on the path, visit beautiful villages and towns. The
scenery is also amazing to look at. Bring plenty of film so you can take
panoramic pictures of the ocean and villages you come across.
