St Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey, as well as the main port of the island. The name of the town and its surrounding parish is St Pierre Port. As well as being a parish, St Peter Port is a small town consisting mostly of steep narrow streets and steps on the overlooking slopes.
The Candie Gardens was created in 1894 and is a great place to visit for sightseers. The garden has an upper and a lower garden, the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery and the Priaulx Library. There holds statues of Queen Victoria and Victor Hugo in the upper gardens. A great place to visit to get some history and for amazing sightseeing.
Another great place to visit is La Valette Underground Military Museum which was a World War II tunnel complex. Check out great artifacts such as vehicles, weapons, and other war related items. This is a great place to visit for those of you who want to view World War II history.
